Tasmania! Summer! Thought the words couldn’t co-exist? Think again. The temperatures are warming up (admittedly, only to an average somewhere around the high 20s) and Tasmanian limbs are coming out to play. Make like a heatwave and sizzle in these summer fashion pieces.

WORK

  1. búl Dress A lightweight cotton fabric and fresh lilac check print make this dress perfect for summer work dressing.

  2. COS Shirt Made from washed cotton, this shirt features a longline boyfriend fit and a flattering curved hem. White always looks fresh yet polished, and will match everything in your wardrobe for uncomplicated workday styling.

  3. Marle Vest Knitwear is a year-round staple in our book but, naturally, as the temperature increases (and it will!), we find ourselves reaching for a comfortable sleeveless option. This cotton vest top is sleek, modern, and can be worn over another shirt or under a blazer, making it a versatile piece.

  4. Scanlan Theodore Trouser Well-tailored pants are a versatile and effortless wardobe essential. These have a sophisticated high-waisted silhouette, elasticised waistband and pleated detailing down the front of the leg. Wear with a blazer for classic corporate attire, or with sneakers and a white t-shirt for a relaxed contempory look.

  5. A. Emery Flat Stay comfortable and stylish at work in these elegant, walnut suede ballet flats. Available at local Hobart boutique Homeroom Design.

  6. Released From Love Ear Cuff Featuring a twist style, this cuff does not require a piercing for ease of wear. It’s wearable on its own, or stacked with other pieces (including mixed metals like the ELK necklace).

  7. ELK Necklace A perfectly simple and elegant addition to your staple jewellery pieces. The necklace features a series of delicate links and a brushed metal finish.

  8. Status Anxiety Bag The Reverie Bag in fresh powder blue is a versatile piece with minimalist detailing and soft leather. Designed to hold all your essentials, it's a perfect solution for day-to-night styling.

Weekend

  1. Jungles Jungles Tee This tie-dyed T-shirt is from Melbourne-based label Jungles Jungles, known for creating graphic-heavy streetwear that includes escape-from-reality themed slogans. A relaxed-fit tee that combines comfort with an edgy vibe and floral prints, its tag "Expect Nothing, Appreciate Everything" should become our mantra when it comes to Summer weather in Tasmania.

  2. Assembly Label Shorts These longline denim shorts offer an updated take on the classic denim short with a longer length and looser, laidback fit. They're an effortless staple for casual days.

  3. COS Bag Available in a range of bright and neutral colours, this mini quilted bag is a stylish accessory, perfect for carrying essentials to the market or the beach.

  4. búl Sunglasses A flattering cat-eye style, these sunglasses offer 100% UV protection while looking chic, making them ideal for sunny days in Tasmania.

  5. Zulu & Zephyr Hat A soft bucket hat made from ribbed corduroy that you can fold in your bag and take everywhere you go.

  6. Deiji Studios Cardigan An all-season investment piece, this effortless wool cardigan has a tie-front design, dropped shoulder and ribbed hem. Its oversized fit allows plenty of room for layering over dresses and T-shirts when the temperature drops.

  7. ELCE Dress This piece is designed to throw over a swimsuit on your way to the beach. Made from slightly sheer lightweight linen, it could also be worn with jeans or a pair of shorts if you have plans afterwards.

  8. Lusso Cloud Slide These lightweight, breathable slides are available in a range of colours. Specifically designed to work in and out of the water with ease, they are perfect for beach days, gardening, or lounging.

  9. Zulu & Zephyr Slide These black slides boast a minimalist design with elasticised straps, a modern square-toe and a subtle raised platform. Perfect for on- and off-duty wear alike, these are a warm-weather favourite.

  10. Kinga Csilla Dress The perfect dress for Summer in Tasmania. Long bell sleeves and a maxi length provide sun protection and some warmth when the weather gets cool, while you look effortlessly stylish. The dress is made from cotton georgette so it is light and breathable, and has been designed for an oversized comfortable fit.

Night Out

  1. Viktoria & Woods Top This top’s structured silhouette and high neckline create an elegant evening look. Easy to layer, it works as well with jeans as it does a black maxi skirt. Wear with statement earrings, like the Reliquia Jewellery Leilani pieces here.

  2. SIR The Label Cami Ideal for layering under a jacket on colder evenings, and pairing perfectly with jeans or high-waisted silk pants, this cami features a vibrant print that brings a fun, summery vibe. Available at local Hobart boutique Homeroom Design.

  3. Rolla’s Jeans A pair of jeans you feel great in is always a fashion staple, no matter the season. These super high-rise, wide-leg jeans are part vintage charm, part modern flair.

  4. Aranaz Bag An investment piece perfect for the festive season, nights out and weddings. Crafted from wooden beads, the vibrant colours and unique structure will complete any outfit.

  5. Reliquia Jewellery Earrings These statement gold stud earrings are inspired by vintage, art-deco aesthetics, and are bringing great summer mermaid vibes.

  6. Solovair Loafer Loafers are a regular feature in Tasmania's fashion scene because they are comfortable, stylish and versatile. While an investment, these leather shoes will work hard for you at work, on the weekend and on a night out. Made in the UK by brand Solovair (known for its quality), these loafers also come in black, but I am drawn to the more feminine burgundy colour which will still match everything in your wardobe.

  7. Lee Mathews Dress The Chamberlain dress from Lee Mathews is the perfect festive dress due to its vibrant colbalt hue, lightweight fabric and flattering silhouette. Wear it with an oversized blazer in black or cream on a night out.
